MAÏA (EN)

Description

Maïa is a shoulder bag, knitted with cotton ribbon. It is deliberately worked tightly to give it strength when loaded. Maïa is knitted flat, in one piece, starting and finishing with a drawstring case border to allow the knitted icord straps to pass through. The sides are knitted from picked-up stitches and closed with grafting. I embellished it with a fringe tassel to give it a bohemian look.

MATERIALS:

RibbonXL by Hoooked (250gr = 120m = 131yds) — 80% recycled cotton, 20% other recycled fibres
col. Pearl White & Dutch Orange for the white/orange prototype
col. Earth Taupe & Iced Apricot for the taupe/peach prototype

Total meterage/yardage : 470gr = 230m = 250 yds  (swatch not included)

Pearl White : 350gr =170m = 185 yds
Dutch Orange : 120gr = 60m = 66 yds

Earth Taupe : 400gr = 190m = 208 yds
Iced Apricot : 70 gr = 40m = 43 yds

Circular needles: 6mm (80-100cm) or 10 US (24-32’’) or the needle size that allow you to achieve the same gauge as mine, considering that I knit tightly                 

 Double pointed needles or short circular needles for the icord : 5.5mm or 9US

 Notions : 2 stitch markers, a large safety pin, a large tapestry needle, and scissors.
